LE JARDIN COLLECTION

Dresses and Head pieces: Amy Jo Tatum Bridal
Make-up and Hair: Tricia Greenwood
Location: San Francisco Theological Seminary, San Anselmo, California

Gardens and weddings are so synonymous. And because it's always inspiring to work with gorgeous fabrics, 'Le Jardin' Collection was a natural. I used a mix of high lustre dupioni silk and lightweight chiffons, laces, tulle and cut velvet.

You'll notice I've used quite a bit of lace in these gowns. What could be more bridal than Chantilly lace? The above chemise reminiscent of the 1920s is in a mix of imported Chantilly, each woven in intricate florals and scalloped edges. Lace used discreetly, the dress below sports a generous kick pleat in back.

Topping off the look here is a net pouf hat in tulle with silk roses . . . .
Tulle and dupioni ball gown accented with a gray ribbon

Pure white dupioni and embossed chiffon mix well here in this sheath silhouette. The gore in back and tie work into a generous train.
The bird cage veil. The new chic in bridal.
I just had to do something here to celebrate boho. Growing up during The Summer of Love, it's a look I remember right down to most of the fabrics and accents. This dress has a bodice done in an assortment of laces. The belt is a gold embroidered peasant style. The topping is a head wreath of dried baby's breath and roses . . .

This white cut velvet drapes so beautifully that the moment I found it, this Grecian design came to mind. The waist is trimmed with white Chantilly Lace. Perfect for the smaller, outdoor wedding.

It was really a pleasure working with such a great group on this shoot. Scott Williams is a photographer extrodinaire, who captured the garenesque theme of this shoot brilliantly. I'd also like to thank Tricia Greenwood who put her special artistry to work on both makeup and hair. She's in the SF Bay Area and available for weddings. And of course I have Ari and Polina to thank, two knock-out models who wear my designs like a second skin. Thank you all!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARILYN!

başlıksız

Every June 1 I do something in rememberence of and to celebrate Marilyn. Last year I wrote this about Marilyn, "Though she wasn't exactly a fashion trendsetter she was an icon who could work it with a few really great dresses. "
Did you know Marilyn had three real life weddings? For her first marriage her guardian managed to find her a full length satin A-line to marry boy next door, Jim Doherty. Her next two weddings were rush events. She married Joe DiMaggio in a dark suit with an ermine collar; Arthur Miller in a lightweight daytime dress with a fly away veil. My favorite Marilyn dress comes from her Arthur Miller phase, a cotton eyelet with a full skirt.
